I’m looking for a Unicorn

I’m looking for a Unicorn

An exceptional opportunity

I’m looking for a unicorn.

Not the mythical creature. A person.

Four months ago, I self-published a nonfiction book called ‘Prophecy Shock’ in Australia and New Zealand.

It sold strongly from the outset, initially reaching number one on Amazon Australia – and more recently, the release of a digital edition has produced another significant spike.

The book is now selling well beyond those familiar with my work and sales are building month on month – without traditional promotion.

The response from readers has been exceptional, variously describing Prophecy Shock as ‘possibly the most important Christian book written this century’ and ‘the most important book on Bible prophecy since The Late Great Planet Earth in 1970’.

That comparison is valid. Prophecy Shock takes a completely different approach to Bible prophecy and reaches conclusions that overturn much of what we think we know.

And it’s changing minds.

The book has been successfully tested in Australia and New Zealand so this is not an unpublished manuscript looking for a home. It has already produced strong sales, generated remarkable reader responses, and is still building momentum.

The next opportunity is North America – but I need the right partner who can help turn a successful book in a smaller market into something much larger.

You will be based in the US and will have deep, practical experience in Christian publishing. You will understand the American evangelical and wider Christian book market from the inside. You will know the publishers, the distributors, the retailers, the media channels, the conferences, the influencers and the decision-makers who shape that market.

You will understand what is selling, what is not selling, what is changing, and why.

You will have experience assessing nonfiction manuscripts, positioning major ideas, negotiating publishing and rights arrangements, building author platforms, developing launch strategies and taking books into markets far beyond their original reach.

You may be an established literary agent, a former publishing executive, an experienced acquisitions professional, a publishing strategist, or someone who has built an exceptional career independently. The title matters less to me than the person.

You will have credibility, judgement, relationships and a demonstrated record of turning strong books into significant publishing outcomes.

And you will appreciate the theological and cultural significance of a book that challenges deeply established ideas.

Before we have any serious conversation, I will ask you to read the book. Not because agreement is required, but because the scale and significance of the opportunity cannot be understood from a synopsis alone.

If this person is you, or if someone immediately comes to mind as you read this, I would welcome an introduction.

If we are not currently connected, send me an email to ashley@nzemail.com and I will be in contact.
