The unchecked rise of checkbook antisemitism
Turns out, most anti-Israel protestors are actors, not activists
In light of recent, explosive, revelations that many/most of the participants in pro-Hamas / antisemitic protests, around the world, are actually being paid to take part – I’m doing some research to find out more about how this is being organised.
According to recent media stories, multiple organisations have been funding these protests in order to create the illusion of a groundswell of antisemitic sentiment and support for the terrorist group, Hamas.
This explains how these protests are able to mobilise so quickly in response to specific issues, why the look and feel of the protest materials (signage, language, AV equipment) is so uniform and of a consistently high production quality, and why the rank-and-file protestors refuse to speak to media and defer all comment to approved organisers.
This trend is obviously deeply concerning. If money can buy protesters – what else can it buy? Favourable media coverage? Political influence? It doesn’t take a rocket science to see how both of these are skewed toward pro-Hamas positions, in the west – leading to questions about what, precisely, is influencing our Journalists and politicians.
So I’m looking for more information, starting with the protests themselves.
If you’ve taken part in one or more of these protests, I’d love to hear from you. There’s no judgement, from me, on your participation – I understand that this is essentially a paying acting job and that work is work.
However, I’d love to get your feedback on a range of questions:
▶️How much were you paid? I’ve heard figures of upwards of $200 per protest – is this correct?
▶️Were you paid in cash or by way of a transfer to your account. If the latter – who were you paid by?
▶️How were you recruited? Did you respond to an ad (and if so, where) or were you approached directly?
▶️Were you required to have a negative view of Israel / Jewish people or did your personal views not matter?
▶️Was there any sort of orientation before you took part? For example, were you required to attend a meeting or watch material outlining the views of the Protest organisers?
▶️Were there warnings about the circumstances under which you would forfeit payment? (ie, speaking to the media). What were these?
▶️Were you asked your age and was there an upper limit to how old you could be to be participate?
▶️Were any promises made in relation to legal support if you were arrested?
▶️Were you offered any inducement to recruit others to participate?
▶️Did you understand the issues which formed the basis of the protest? (again, no judgement, I’m just keen to understand what mattered to the organisers).
▶️And finally, what country are you in and what type of protest did you participate in? (eg, campus, public street, embassy. etc)
You have my assurance that your responses will be completely anonymous and that the feedback will be aggregated in such a way as to insure that no individual can be identified.
